The guys are getting moved into the house. The rooms in the basement are coming along well. The only thing left is the trim right now.

Thought you might take a look at their facebook post - Bishop Weisenburger is coming to the house to bless the new place. Great time for Chi Rho.

Here are a few more pictures from the foundation repair thanks to Brock. The men spent their first night in the house. Of course, it couldn’t just be a normal night at Chi Rho. I received a text from Nick at 3 am (which I didn’t wake up for fortunately), that there was an accident. I checked the weather, and there was no rain yesterday in Manhattan, so I was a little relieved. When I got a hold of Nick, he said, however, that the neighbor’s water main broke and was gushing into our yard. That wouldn’t have been much of a problem except that the sump malfunctioned and the water pooled up the basement.

Oh the crazy life of Chi Rho. Maybe tonight will be a normal night, I doubt it.

Hello everyone! It’s been a while. Today is the official say goodbye to Royal Towers day! The men of the house just completed the move out to our new place. The day is a little sad leaving Royal Towers, where we have been for 13 years, but only a little. There are good memories, and I personally enjoyed the apartments, but they have been in farily bad disrepair these past years. Now, if we have complaints, it’s only our fault!

I uploaded some pictures for you. Unfortunately, I didn’t get many pics from the men who are up there, we’ll have to wait for their photos. My dad and I worked last week putting up the newly framed walls in the two basement rooms. Those walls were crazy bendy as you can see from the cracks. Many thanks to Nick Downey and friends for doing the foundation repair in the space of a weekend. That’s incredible. You can see in the pictures that the back fill is already in. They installed three anchors in the ground to secure the wall and a rock fill drain to a sump to control the water. They also installed a membrane on the exterior basement wall to keep the water flowing down to the sump.

Many alums are up there this weekend to help move and clean. Gabe, one of the current members, works for a cleaning service, so they are using chemicals that I’m afraid touch. The house will either be clean, or we will have stripped every surface of it’s outer layer.

Our fall alumni meeting is Saturday, October 3rd tentatively at 11. We will have big open house and BBQ. We will not be blessing the house then because Bishop Edward is coming in a few weeks to do that! It’s been a while since we’ve had Bishops at the house. I still remember when Bishop Jackels tried to refuse my homemade cheesecake … he gave in though.

Exciting times. As a final note, MDI thought that we would be receiving some of our deposit back. That’s quite amazing I have to say.

God bless everyone. More pictures to come.
