  • Spring Meeting

We had our Spring meeting this past Saturday! We made a nice weekend out of it. We met Friday night at Old Chicago and successfully had cucumbers thrown at us, upset the tables all around us, and found a grapefruit beer that was surprisingly very good.

Saturday, we met at my parish in the morning. We had a great showing from Kansas City, thank you to all who made it down. The proceedings centered on financial updates about our accounts, future fundraising goals, recruitment report from the house, house moving process, and nominations for next year.

We set the Fall meeting date for 9/19. We will make it a nice weekend for an open house, cookout, and possible game day as well.

We will also have a Fall house fix-up weekend. That will be 8/7-8/9. That will involve cleanup, shampooing, yard work, wood work (desks and bunkbeds), and whatever projects I can’t get done in May.

In May, I’m going to head up there during finals and week and take care of some of the contract work and build a shed with Nick Downey.

Keep in touch for updates for August and September!

We closed on the house last Friday! The deal was completed by about 1:30
pm. We officially own a house now! Thanks be to God and to all of the Chi
Rho alums who helped put this together.

Do not give up on the fundraising and prayers though. We definitely need
both - prayers most especially. As for funds, as anyone with a mortgage
knows, paying extra on a loan helps immensely with bringing down the
principal and paying the bank a lot less in interest. In our case, we can
also lower the monthly mortgage payment significantly if we keep up the
    fundraising.

Be on the lookout for upcoming cleanup projects or input for suggestion on
    improving the house.
