We closed on the house last Friday! The deal was completed by about 1:30
pm. We officially own a house now! Thanks be to God and to all of the Chi
Rho alums who helped put this together.

Do not give up on the fundraising and prayers though. We definitely need
both - prayers most especially. As for funds, as anyone with a mortgage
knows, paying extra on a loan helps immensely with bringing down the
principal and paying the bank a lot less in interest. In our case, we can
also lower the monthly mortgage payment significantly if we keep up the

Be on the lookout for upcoming cleanup projects or input for suggestion on
    improving the house.

  • Closing Date Dec. 5th!

    Dear Brothers,

Hope the new liturgical season is treating you all well. I love Advent.

In case you’re wondering about the house we’re buying, closing date is Dec.
5th - that’s this Friday. So, keep the board and all of us in your prayers.
That’s the only way we’ve ever been able to survive :)

We do have a fundraising drive going. Please check for
updates. There’s even a cool fundraising thermometer on there. We need to
get to a 15% downpayment on the 315,075 house plus a bit extra for closing
costs and repairs. We currently have 40k of 55k raised. Please talk to God
(and your spouse) to see how much you could help the alumni with this
venture. The board would like to see every alum participate in some way in
this venture that has been 13 years in the making.

I’d like to give more regular updates to everyone on the status of the men
at K-State and the alumni. For that purpose, we’ve added a better news feed
to which I will update frequently. If you like, you can
also subscribe to these updates through

    twitter: @chirhopresident
I haven’t made a facebook page yet, but that’s too hard.

    God bless,

    -Fr. David

  • Update on the House

In case you were wondering, the closing date for the new house is Dec. 5th!
That’s coming up quick. I placed a link to the brochure we’ve been passing
    out below.

The most immediate item currently is the fundraising for the down payment.
If you haven’t had a chance to think about contributing, now is the time!
Whether you are able to contribute a lot or little is not as important as
being able to be there for the foundation of this new phase in Chi Rho.
(Especially since today’s Gospel was about the widow who gave everything
    she had).

That being said, where are we in the fundraising process currently? The
purchase price of the house was lowered to $315,025 due to repair issues.
That makes the 15% down payment with closing costs and repairs: $55,104.
Including the $20,000 we have saved, we have $39,000 pledged. That means we
only have $16,104 left! Now is your turn.

You will be receiving a phone call from one of the board members this week.
Please consider being part of the foundation of this important new step. If
you have a Knights of Columbus Council or Men’s Group at your parish,
please let us know if you would be willing to ask them for help.

Keep all of us in your prayers!

    El Presidente
